Bloganuary writing prompt
List five things you do for fun.

I have honestly nothing better to do this evening.

Another post that has nothing to do with writing (or my Weekend Noumenal release): List five methods of entertainment,

  1. Worldbuilding freewriting – write some crack ideas down for my projects as they come, usually in freewritten bursts of about fifteen minutes at a time. I often share them with my brother for a laugh. Often spirals into a thirty minute long debate about wasted potential and “improvement”. All very entertaining.
  2. Art – Naturally, I’ve found pixel art a lot easier lately than my traditional work. Not sure why – probably less of a hassle rubbing out and shading. I like to have a shot at either making my own sprites or doing my own sprite edits for various games (e.g. Deltarune, Lisa fangames etc). Not very novel-y, I must say, but often gives way to some creative ideas…and thus more worldbuilding freewriting/fraternal debates.
  3. Walk the dog – One of the simple pleasures of life, for both me and the mutt. Need I say more?
  4. Cook – Especially sweet stuff. All the more satisfying to eat. Unless it goes horribly wrong and I need to clean up burnt pans. But that’s the price you pay for joy. Great way to take my mind off stupid ideas that don’t deserve to be written down.
  5. Roleplaying – I run a really weird Discord campaign with a few friends bi-weekly. Like, proper weird: made my own mechanics for combat and everything (I.E. ripped them off homebrew and beyond). Often, a lot of my pixel art goes towards it! Best of all, it is a continuous generator for stupid ideas to write about (see Activity one). Mind, I try not to rip off my own players stuff directly. At least I don’t think I do.

These are stuff I do on a daily basis. Outings with friends are more occasional pleasures (and usually too diverse and stupid to categorise). You might observe that blogwriting isn’t among these fun activites…
