Well well well. This has been a bit of a stumble.

The first week of my november writing binge has certainly not been the cleanest cut – all first times at anything can hardly be said work out for the best! I’ve been working, as I said, with my odd reincarnation based story titled “Nebulon Lineage” for a little while now and, to be frank, I’ve taken more steps back than forwards! On my first day, I tallied 1498 confident words in spite of my ebbing sickness – still a bit short of the 1666 daily average if I was earnestly going to strive for 50,000. Day two, I managed better with 1785 words…but then my plot sort of fell backwards!

My inner critic has not been properly tamed.

Over the past 4 days, I’ve been procrastinating, rewriting and stumbling in all kinds of spectacular manners – I am now back to 1950 words – 8046 in the hole – and feeling like I’ve hit a bit of a dud here. Still, a promise is a promise – I’ve still got a draft to show you this monday and I’d like to hear what you think:

Frankly, I think I need to go back to the blueprints and sort things out. The introduction, to me, started out so evocatively if weirdly, but then things kind of deflated and became rather cringey. Might just be a cold-induced disatisfaction, but I’m still going to percevere. Give it a read and tell me what I’m doing wrong – the usual constructive questions mightn’t work this time!

Anyhoo, hope you’re having a nice day. I’ll try and figure something out in the meantime – changing this to a “SHort story a day” seems tempting.

Bon voyage!
