Hey up!
Now, today’s prompt should be pretty appealing to a lot of us (even if we don’t apply) – “What foods would you like to make”? Well, as it would happen, when I’m not writing or drawing, I’m cooking quite an array of stuff. Mostly, I cook things that aren’t readily available in the UK but sound delicious – Chinese Orange chicken (UK takeaways don’t tend to sell it), snickerdoodles, lebuchken, Ghoulash and so on. However, these are all fodder for special occasions. They’re too expensive to make all the time.
The more common stuff I make, I’d argue, is still just as delicious. Toad in the hole – that’s sausage in yorkshire pudding – is a family favourite, as are homemade pork pies! We also have a pizza oven at home, so every now and again we hold family pizza parties – I often make the dough myself. Isn’t as good as many takeout pizzas, to be frank, but it’s probably a good deal healthier. That’s what I’m telling myself, anyway.
However, if there’s anything I’d really love to make soon, it’s chocolate mousse. I remember making one when I was fifteen that was absolute ectasy, with it’s own brittle caramel topping – maybe it’s just nostalgia overblowing it, but I’d love to make something close to that again.
Anyway, I’ve gushed on enough. Speaking of drawing and writing, I’ll begin posting more of that on my blog next week, possibly in batches – my novel teaser will be releasing next friday! Something to look forward to. In the meantime; lettuce hope your cooking endeavours go well and your digestion stays healthy!
Bon appetit!
