Daily writing prompt four – Too close for comfort. (12/7/23)

Daily writing prompt
What strategies do you use to increase comfort in your daily life?

On the fourth day, he rose again…to answer yet another general prompt.

Today’s question is all about how I go about making my life bearable – or, more precisely, the strategies for us all at home. Well, looks like I’m in for another one of my blatant lists:

  • I go for daily walks – one at 7:00, the other at 11:00 and an extra one if I can manage it at 18:00. This includes university days, though the timing is different – go for a browse around campus for any materials I might need. Probably stops me from getting sick/uncomfortable.
  • I take a break after every hour and a half away from technology to stop me from getting back cramps, eye strain etc.
  • I wear a wide brimmed hat in summer to keep the sun off my head. Honestly, more people should do this – hats were invented for a reason!
  • Since I’m pretty eco, we don’t go for air conditioning, but if it’s hot I make sure my rooms are well ventilated in the early morning before the sun gets too bold. Thereafter, I shut all blindows and close the blinds until evening. Sunlight deficiency is not a problem, since I still go for walks at the above times, so sadly I shan’t be getting rickets yet!
  • I also lay my bedding on the floor in summer. Matresses and duvets are as of late too hot.
  • I do not own Twitter or Tiktok. Enough said.

Well, that was not particularly exciting advice. Most of it probably doesn’t work, but who am I to know better? I’m a creative writing blog! I’m not an expert in comfitude!

Anyone got any better ideas? You’ve got a choice between answering the blog prompt on site, letting me know in the comments or flatly refusing to share/getting on with your life. Either way, have a good day!
